One of the reasons I get my meat from you, Steve, is also the reason I get my eggs from one of my fellow choir members at church. I’ve been to her little farm and seen her happy chickens. (The eggs are also multicolored and beautiful, but that doesn’t last long once I’ve cracked them open!)
Anyhoo, what matters to me is that I can eat what I like in good conscience. I used to be a vegetarian until I connected with people who raise what I think of as happy chickens, happy cows, happy pigs, etc., you get the idea. I gladly pay more for the food I eat when I know that the animal lived a good life before it came to my table.
As for the price of eggs being the reason people voted for Trump, if true, then I’m all for blaming him, even if it doesn’t make any sense at all. He is pretty much the king of blaming everyone for everything and taking absolutely no responsibility.
So, yeah, these damn Trump eggs! Where will it end - $10 a dozen??!!!??
I don't think you need to wash eggs. I think they last longer if you leave the 'skin' on them. You might have to wipe of some poo maybe but mostly if you can leave the washing to the consumer who would wash before use you will have better preserved eggs.
Yeah, but I don't know the legal part of it. I think that Seven Sons was washing eggs because it is a requirement. I am pretty sure that when you sell them from your farm store you don't have to wash them though. No worries.
I buy eggs at one of the local co-ops from Larry Schultz Organic Farm in Owatonna, MN. I don't know what kind of chickens he has or what he feeds them but they are the best eggs ever. Since I first had them I've never purchased other eggs.
Since Trump claimed he invented the word "groceries" and made his false claims about bringing prices down eggs have definitely become political. It's gonna be a long four years.
Maybe so. Maybe not. Join a group. Get active in doing something besides stuff on the internet. It is the guys making phone calls getting others active that will make the difference. It is the people going to town halls and talking to (maybe yelling at) their representative, Right or Left representatives that will make a difference.
Steve,
You are such a great writer. I love reading your material. Thanks for taking the time to do this.

Great post, Steve! Got me thinking about an egg delivery business.
